Description
A compact, affordable microphone and an instrument preamp, the Useful Arts Hornet is ideal for chucking in an equipment bag for remote sessions or hanging out on your studio desktop. Use the Hornet’s color control to slather on some saturation, sweeten harmonics, and enliven your tracks. You’ll get crackier snares, grittier bass guitars, and vocals that leap to the front of the mix.
The Hornet features discrete gain cell topology, a custom Cinemag input transformer, and JFET DI. Even at 60 dB of gain, it’s insanely quiet. The Hornet is tiny, but don’t let that fool you – it’s perfectly capable of serving as the front end of choice even in the best studios. Need an even thicker, more powerful sound? Just dial in the Color control, and the personality of the signal is enhanced without the need for compression or EQ. Useful Arts has innovated their gear to reach all sides of the market.
