After 26 hours and a huge queue to get in the NAMM Show, I have to admit that it was worth it. We have met old and new friends – some neighbours you can barely see and who are 9,000km away – but, above all, we have been able to see and try first hand all the novelties that most of the brands exibiting brought to the show, bring news to tell you and, of course, attend a few parties, as was Lynx’s 20 year celebration.

Well, let’s go to the matters. Let’s talk precisely about the brands that we distribute which, apparently, this year will give a lot to talk about.

Lynx Studio:

Lynx Aurora (n) Pre 1608 TBLynx announced this past edition of the NAMM Show 2018 the new LM-PRE4 module for the recent Aurora (n): a four-channel mic preamp that includes selection of mic / line inputs / Hi-Z and the built-in A/D converter that couples directly to the preamplifier to minimize distortion.

And taking advantage of this module’s launch, nothing better than fitting it into a “new” Aurora. It is called Aurora (n) PRE 1608, and includes two LM-PRE4 modules for 16 line input channels, 8 of which are microphone / line / HI-Z inputs switchable — with the same sound quality as the other inputs — and with 8 analog output channels. Standard models with USB or Thunderbolt connection will be launched, but there is the possibility to request them to your new Custom Shop with HD or DANTE interfacing.

In addition, Lynx still has the intention of making available simple configurations of 8 In / 8 Out and 16 In / 16 Out, just like the classic Aurora’s.

It is estimated that both units will be available in March. Prices will be announced soon. See products

Rupert Neve Design

rupert neve nammRupert Neve Designs announces the RNDI-S DI and the RMP-D8 Multi Pre amp module at the NAMM Show 2018.

The new RNDI-S is based on the RNDI single channel DI box, one of the best-selling products of the brand, maintaining all the tone and dynamic range of the original. It includes two inputs with THRU connections, and a 3.5mm stereo connector for devices such as mobile phones or tablets.
The RNDI-S is the perfect solution for the direct capture of bass, guitars, keyboards, drum machines, consumer devices and acoustic instruments with pickup pads. Available in the next weeks.

While the new RMP-D8 —  which has been designed with the most demanding live professionals in mind — is a remote8-channel microphone preamplifier and AD converter, with DANTE and AES connectivity. The RMP is really a no compromise design, because each preamp is the typical Rupert Neve design, Class A topology and transformer balanced. The AD converters, of mastering quality, are a completely new design to capture the source with exceptional precision and natural sound.

The RMP-D8 will start shipping in late spring/early summer, and prices will be announced very soon. See products
