Lewitt announces the new MTP W950, a modular microphone & condenser capsule based on the acclaimed MTP 940, with a detachable capsule compatible with industry standard wireless systems. Its 1″ true condenser capsule delivers incredible sound on stage with a depth and clarity only known from studio recordings. It also offers two polar patterns (cardioid and supercardioid), a 120Hz low-cut filter and 12dB attenuation to deal with very loud vocals or adapt the microphone to pick up other instruments.
One of the biggest strengths of the MTP W950 is its excellent feedback safety and industry-leading bleed rejection. In addition, its rear rejection of over 90% throughout the whole frequency range, the 1″ true condenser capsule can unfold its full sound potential without restrictions, even on loud stages.
The dual-layer design at the top of the capsule reduces pop and wind noise to an absolute minimum and protects the capsule from condensation while retaining clarity. . Like the entire MTP series, it is a highly recommended microphone for the hip hop music genre as it prevents tonal coloration even when you’re grabbing the MTP W950 at the basket.
Compatibility with W9 capsule:
Direct compatible with following handheld wireless microphone transmitters: Shure, Lectrosonics, Sony , Line 6 HD-V55 / XD-V75, Serie Mipro ACT. All Sennheiser handheld wireless microphone transmitters through adapter ambient HHA.
1, 2, 3 Testing the modular Microphone:
Before its release, professional live sound engineers have beta-tested the LEWITT W9 with star acts like the Rolling Stones, T-Pain, and Kehlani, getting outstanding and reliable sound quality no matter the venue.
“It is interesting to develop a new and innovative product for a field that you are so familiar with. I’ve seen all the great advances in live sound and I’m sure this mic is one of them. While trying it out over the past few months on tour, every person I met immediately asked me: when can I get one? – Roman Jagl tells us, manager of Lewitt and live sound engineer with more than 20 years of experience and a fundamental part of the development of the MTP W950.
A great idea to finally have that Lewitt sound, that you like so much, in your usual wireless system. (Lewitt’s MTP 940 version is such an acclaimed mic that it has become the quintessential singer/musician/songwriter J.M. Guzmán’s mic. Read the news here)
