Audient was founded in 1997 by Dave Dearden and Gareth Davies. These two engineers who had been the two Ds of DDA, a brand synonymous with superior professional quality, which has had a resounding success in the audio industry, after having gone through another brand of the Mark 4 group (Klark Teknik, Midas, etc. ) were finally able to embark on the Audient adventure. They started with a 31-band stereo graphic equalizer and then launched the ASP8024, its flagship console that changed the direction of analog consoles in full explosion of digital technologies.
First the ASP8024, then the ASP Heritage, are large-format, in-line analog consoles, famous for their simplicity, transparent sound and excellent dynamics. 20 years later and after finding his home in thousands of studios around the world, the ASP8024, the ASP4816 (its simplest and smallest version) and now the new Heritage, are still being sold a little all over the planet. Since then, Audient has continued to follow that same innovative philosophy and redefining it in other products, such as those that make up the range of interfaces and microphone previews both in rack and desktop format.
